Dental implants replace teeth that have been missing since birth or have been lost due to gum disease, infection, trauma, or decay. Implants are surgically placed into the bone and become a permanent part of your mouth. With implants, patients no longer experience the slipping, moving, and irritation of dentures or partials.

Dental implants look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Because they are made of a metal (titanium) that is highly compatible with bone, the implant (a small post that protrudes from the gum) is able to fuse easily with the underlying bone. Implants can restore areas both in the front and back of the mouth.

A highly experienced oral surgeon or periodontist recommended by our office will perform the surgical procedure for your implant. Dr. Firtel will work closely with your surgeon and follow your treatment to the restorative phase. Once the implant is ready to be restored, Dr. Firtel will attach special implant abutments and components to the implant, take an impression, and then cement a comfortable, functional, and esthetic crown to the implant. Once the implant is fully restored with the crown, you will once again be confident and comfortable with your smile.
